Puritan Belief

The Puritans are the men of God who started in the 16th century building on the purity of the gospel message that Salvation is by Grace alone.

Jesus Healed All the Sick

"When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick." Mat 8:16

Every single man and woman in Scripture who went to Jesus with a need had it met. Jesus never failed once, He healed all the sick.

Why is it that many people today do not get what they ask of God?

Why are there Christians still in poverty, in sickness, in need?

.."I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

This may be a stretch but bear with me...

What is the greatest healing possible?

Being raised from the dead.

There are three times Jesus raises people from the dead in scripture. This being the greatest healing of the flesh is akin to our salvation.

Salvation is not like being unwell and then made well again. Rather the sinner is dead and needs to be made alive in Christ.

Now the point. Regardless of any physical blessing we may or may not receive here on earth there is only one point to all of them. To bring glory to the Lord. If the most glory will come to Jesus by a christian being sick/poor and yet praising Jesus and being faithful in worship, then that is what will occur. If the most glory will be given to Jesus by making a miraculous healing/blessing of prosperity then that is what will happen.

Its all about Him, not the healing/riches, and not the person who is healed/blessed with prosperity.

All physical healings and blessings on earth also pale in comparison to the blessing of new life purchased by the Blood of Jesus.

Good post Puritan Belief, good question.
Why is that many people today do not get what they ask of God?

Perhaps they ask the wrong god.
Imagine;
In heaven three persons running around, the Christian is praying asking god to heal their sickness. The one person of god says to the other person of god, “he is talking to you, do something, oh no! I am busy, he is talking to you or perhaps he is talking to none of us, but to the other”. And so the argument goes on and on and the Christian did not get healed.

Have you ever noticed when Christians pray, they shoot up their prayers to heaven in hope that they address the right person god.
Most Christians do not know who their God is, that is because they are poly Theists.
How can a person go to the true God and healer if they do not know who it is?

John 14:13+14
Jesus said “I will do whatever you ask in my name so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. (14) You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Do you think that Jesus is speaking the truth?
If so, then every person who asks Jesus Christ anything, He will do it! Salvation deliverance, healing anything you ask.

Do you think any other person (god) can heal you?
Look in your churches! If Jesus would be present you would not have so many sick people in your midst?

If your earthly Father would be the best Doctor who can heal any sickness, do you think he would heal your sickness?
Or, do you think he would not heal you, to bring glory to himself?

This is a copout and unbelief!

If your earthly Father would heal you, how much more would your heavenly Father heal all your affliction and diseases.

What happened, are you speechless?
No point of view?

Modern day magi;
You said, it’s all about Him, not the healing, riches, blessing and prosperity.
That sounds very humble! But that’s no good to me, neither is it any good to you or anyone else.

It is NOT the Lord who needs the healing, riches, blessing and prosperity; it is His children, the believers in the Lord who need all those things.
This is the inheritance of His children.
Any inheritance is not yours as long as the Father lives, but when the Father died, the inheritance belongs to His children, and I mean His children.
So then I ask you; did the Father die??

Have you ever met a real honest-to-goodness healer? I don't mean Benny Hinn or Ernest Angley. I mean men who have actually healed a person's cancer or regenerated a lost limb of an amputee.

James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

I John 5:14 And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

Those are great verses I was going to bring up the one in James. It is a good one about the prosperity gospel.

I guess the main point of the post is to say that Jesus is not dead but alive and if He be alive and we go to him now with our Sickness etc should not the same happen as it did in scripture?

Hi Takin,

I am interested to know what you mean by those verses in relation to the post. They are great verses none the less.

Anonymous/James:
In answer to your question how many have actually healed a person eg limbs etc.

My answer is One Person and His name is Jesus Christ. He meets all your criteria. I believe every second he is genuinely healing people in all areas around the world according to His Will and His good pleasure.

The question is, is He doing this in the same way as He did this when he walked among us 2000 years ago?

James 4:3 No child of God goes to the Lord with a wrong motive for healing, they all want to be healed, that’s their motive.
That verse relates to prosperity as PB said.

1John 5:14 Do you think it is the Lords will for His children to be healed?
Or do you think He delights when His children suffer the curse of sickness and disease?
We all can read what the scripture says, but we would like to hear what you have to say.

Anonymous; (James)
How can we do greater things than Jesus, if we do not even believe that Jesus can and will heal all our sickness and diseases and that He will do anything we ask in His name?
You said,” Because Jesus is going to the Father;”
What do you mean by that?
I quoted, that Jesus may bring glory to the Father;
What does that mean to you? Or anybody!
Please keep in mind Isa. 42:8 the Lord does not give His glory to another.

I still maintain the position that the Lord Jesus does not listen to their prayers and heal them because they pray to another person which they also call god (Jehovah).
Like Israel who always burned incense to other gods.

Have you ever wondered why churches have so called Christians who suffer deep depression and all kind of mental problems and sicknesses etc.?
They say that God heals, but they send there mentally sick to the mental institution. Where is their God??
There are many professing Christians who believe in God in mental institutions.
Which god do you think they have asked to heal them??
Perhaps they believe the same as you, that their misery is to the glory of god.
The Catholic Church is exactly the same.
My God has thrown her on a bed of sickness including your churches because you believe in the same god as the Catholic Church.
If you wonder why your god can not heal the sick in your midst, because you believe in the same god as the Antichrist the Pope, his gods are three persons just like yours.

All the sick people among you are a testimony against you that you believe in a false god who can not heal the sick.
The God of the Bible healed ALL who came to Him!

Yes I know, you may think its Trinity bashing! But who else is going to tell you the truth?
If you do not renounce this wicked Trinity doctrine, you may end up the same as them.
Jesus Christ is not impressed with a form of godliness, but He seeks a heart who is fully His.

Anyone who has received from the Lord Jesus a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God can NOT say that there are three persons in God.
Concerning the Father I would have many more questions which you can not and will not answer.
Jesus said! “You know neither me nor my Father; if you would know me you would know the Father also.

Also Jesus said that you will die in your sickness and disease if you do not believe that I am He.
Please don’t tell me that He said “sin” and not sickness and disease, what’s the difference anyway?

When a man or a woman is on a sickbed in agony and pain, surely they do not need a fluffy doctrine with an impotent god.
But what they need is an all powerful God, the only one and true God the Lord Jesus Christ who alone is God over all and who heals ALL our sickness and diseases and by His strips we are healed.

Paul G: On what basis do you conclude that Christ is healing anyone today? Have you witnessed a miracle of some sort?

Anonymous (Jim);
The Lord my God does not change; He is the same yesterday today and forever.
If you believe in Him, the supernatural will follow with signs and wonders even to the extreme. If they do not happen in your life, perhaps you believe in the wrong god?
In which god do you believe?

Everyone;
Did you know that all Sodomite churches believe in god and in Jesus. It is the same god and Jesus as the Pope has, the (TRINITY) god and Jesus is the same as said in 2Cor. 11:4

Interesting;
At the transfiguration only Moses and Elisa appeared. Where were the two other persons of god??

At the temptation in the desert, angles appeared to strengthen Jesus. Why didn’t His Father appear to strengthen Him??

The truth is that your church leaders have deceived you to believe that the Father is another person.
Perhaps you deceive other people to believe the same trinity lie as the Pope does.
Trinitarians really are Catholics, when they are sick and pray, they call upon the trinity god who can not hear their prayer neither can he heal them.
As for you, turn away from the trinity god and believe the Lord Jesus Christ, He is the true God and eternal life.

If you agree, please give me an (amen)!
If you disagree, leave your comment!
If you are not sure, ask the Lord Jesus if I am telling you the truth. Remember the Temple curtain is torn and you have access into the holy of holies, the presence of the Lord God the Almighty.

Erastus remained at Corinth, but Trophimus I left sick at Miletus. (Second Timothy 4:20)

Did Paul fail to pray for Trophimus, or did he pray to the wrong God?

And because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me-- to keep me from exalting myself! Concerning this I entreated the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (Second Corinthians 12:7-9)

Was Paul praying to the wrong Jesus?

Paul got an answer from the Lord "My Grace is sufficent for you for power is perfected in weakness."

Anyone who seeks the Lord for healing and has been answered by the Lord like this has gone to the correct Jesus.

This verse is great because it shows that Paul was very persistant with his messanger of Satan.

As Christians who have sickness etc we should be seeking deliverance from Jesus in the same way until we receive an answer.

Takin;
2Cor. 12:7-9 the thorn in the flesh passage is self-explanatory!
It does not say that Paul had a sickness like most Christians say.
But that the Lord Jesus gave him a demon to keep him humble because of the great revelation the Lord has given him.

And Paul was not praying to the God of the Pope, the Siamese triplet three person gods.
He was praying to the Lord of glory Jesus Christ of Nazareth, so that at that name every knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, even your knees and your tongue to the glory of the Father.

2Timothy 4:20 that verse is not self-explanatory!
For you to know that verse, you have to ask the Lord Jesus yourself in person, and do not ask your church-leaders over you.
The Scripture is not designed so as to have a relationship with your heavenly Father through a book the (Bible) only.

Psalm 103
Of David.
1 Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

2 Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-

3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,

4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,

5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Psalm 103 is such a wonderful Psalm, packed full of goodies for everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus.
I have been reading the rest of the Psalm just to remind me not to forget all His benefits which we have in the Lord who forgives ALL our sins and heals ALL our diseases.
Thanks Kellie for reminding us.
